La Ribagorza

The region of La Ribagorza stands for overwhelming nature, hospitality, historic towns and authentic villages, good food and drinks, rivers and lakes, not to mention a wonderful climate and no mass tourism.

The spectacular gorge of Mont Rebei, at half an hour’s drive from the house. The gorge is carved by the river Noguera Ribagorzana and crosses the Montsec mountain range. The gorge can be enjoyed on foot following the ancient mule track carved into the rock. On the other side of the gorge are 2 spectacular wooden stairs that cross the rock vertically. Exploring the gorge by canoe is also an unforgettable experience.

Besides the historic village of Graus (6 km.) with the beautiful Plaza Mayor, all amenities, a weekly market and cozy terraces, there are many attractions such as historic villages, the wineries of the Somontano region and the Buddhist temple Dag Shang Kagyü.

The ski resort of Cerler (Benasque) with a good range of different slopes is an hour’s drive away.

Sporty adventurers who like a challenge can indulge themselves with for example rock climbing, kayaking and canyoning.
