The Sierra de Boumort Wildlife Reserve

The Boumort Wildlife Reserve (13,000 hectares) is one of the most impressive mountain areas in the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees. The rugged landscape of forests, rock formations and valleys is home to an exceptional biodiversity, including red deer, chamois, wild boar, foxes and all four European vulture species: griffon vulture, Egyptian vulture, bearded vulture and black vulture – the only area in Europe where they all breed.

In autumn, the impressive bellowing of the stags echoes through the mountains, a spectacular natural event that attracts nature lovers from far and wide. Boumort is a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers and 4x4 enthusiasts, with countless routes along babbling brooks, through forests and across high plains with beautiful views.

Casa Bep is located near La Pobla de Segur, the ‘gateway to the Pyrenees’, a lively town with around 3000 inhabitants. A stroll through the village takes you past medieval streets, authentic shops, a local beer brewery, cosy squares with terraces, the weekly market, and the beautiful Casa Mauri; a fine example of modernist architecture.

When you descend from Casa Bep towards La Pobla de Segur, you can enjoy a magnificent view of Lake Sant Antoni. Here you can swim, canoe or water ski, or relax on a terrace by the water and quietly enjoy the surroundings and the sun.

The area provides a wide variety of possibilities for excursions. You can enjoy endless hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, fishing, skiing and climbing. In addition, the region is known for its Romanesque architecture, authentic villages, Catalan gastronomy and friendly locals.
