The house enjoys a beautiful secluded setting on its own plot of more than 1.4 hectares. The top photo shows the west façade of the house; on that side, and extending towards the south, lies the majority of the land.

The house is very easily accessible via a tarmac local road with very little traffic.

The front door opens into a central hallway with access to the bedrooms, bathroom and beautiful sunny living room/kitchen.

The spacious living room/open-plan kitchen is a place where everyone will want to gather and catch up on the day’s activities, while cooking together or to just relax with a drink in the sitting area by the wood-burning stove.

The delightful bright kitchen is brand new and fully equipped with an induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher and microwave.

From the kitchen there is a door to a spacious south-facing terrace and the adjacent land. Whether this is where you drink your morning coffee, host dinners or enjoy a nightcap under the beautiful starry sky, here you can fully enjoy the outdoors.

The surroundings and the region of La Ribagorza

Casa Gambell is located in a valley belonging to the municipality of Arén situated in the beautiful region of La Ribagorza. In the immediate vicinity of Casa Gambell, there is much to explore: from fascinating geology and history to sites from the time of dinosaurs.

In the vicinity of the house the river Noguera Ribagorzana flows. This river forms the border between Catalonia and Aragón and connects the lakes Escales in the north and Canelles in the south. So in summer there is plenty of choice for swimming, canoeing or other (water) sports.

Everywhere in the landscape you can see historic vestiges like chapels, Roman bridges, defence towers and monasteries. The rich historical heritage is also reflected in the many authentic villages.

One of the most beautiful hiking trails in Europe is the walk through the gorge of Mont Rebei. The gorge is carved by the river Noguera Ribagorzana and crosses the Montsec mountain range. The gorge can be enjoyed on foot following the ancient mule track carved into the rock. On the other side of the gorge are 2 spectacular wooden stairs that cross the rock vertically. Exploring the gorge by canoe is also an unforgettable experience.

Apart from peace and culture, the area also offers action and adventure. The diverse nature offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, skiing, bird watching, fishing or mushroom hunting.
